Saulsbury, Schilling Recognized as 2023 Leadership in Law Honorees

Chip Saulsbury and Blair Schilling recently were selected to the 2023 Leadership in Law class by New Orleans CityBusiness. The honor recognizes 50 area professionals in the field of law for both their career and community accomplishments. Click here to see the announcement.

Saulsbury has considerable experience leading all legal aspects of mergers and acquisitions (M&A), both for private equity funds in acquisitions of portfolio companies, add-on acquisitions, other direct equity and debt investments, and for sellers of businesses as they engage in competitive sales processes. He regularly assists his clients in obtaining secured debt financing, often in the form of asset-based secured loans, multi-lender syndicated credit facilities, credit-tenant lease financings, or other commercial loan transactions. Saulsbury serves as a member of the Saint Charles Avenue Association, a volunteer-led organization with a mission to encourage the historic and residential character of the Avenue, and he is a long-time member of the Board and Executive Committee of the Beauregard-Keyes house in the French Quarter. Saulsbury also coaches his sons’ baseball teams at Carrollton Boosters. Read more about his practice here.

Schilling represents clients in a wide range of commercial matters in federal and state court, with a concentration in environmental law. Her environmental practice is centered on representing landowners throughout Louisiana against some of the oil and gas industry’s largest operators for land loss, oilfield contamination, erosion, and groundwater contamination. Female representation in the legal field and in her community is of utmost importance to Schilling. She was recently chosen for the Loyola University New Orleans Women’s Leadership Academy, a noteworthy recognition given that she is a Loyola Law alumna. The program seeks to increase the representation of women in leadership roles by educating, empowering, and elevating its cohorts, and it is the only one of its kind hosted by a university in Louisiana. Honorees will be celebrated at an in-person event at the New Orleans Museum of Art later this fall. A special Leadership in Law insert profiling all honorees will run in the October 20 issue of CityBusiness.

Congratulations to these outstanding Fishman Haygood attorneys!
