Kaja Elmer and Blair Schilling Named to 2026 Lawdragon X – The Next Generation
June 15, 2026
Fishman Haygood Partners Kaja Elmer and Blair Schilling have been named to the 2026 Lawdragon X – The Next Generation, a national guide recognizing the country’s most promising young attorneys. Fishman Haygood is one of only three New Orleans firms with multiple honorees on the list.
Blair appears in the guide for the third consecutive year. Her practice centers on environmental litigation, including coastal land loss, land contamination, and regulatory matters. She has represented state agencies, national conservation organizations, and private landowners in technically demanding cases, and is recognized by Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America®, Super Lawyers, and Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Environmental Lawyers. Beyond her practice, Blair serves in leadership roles across multiple organizations dedicated to advancing women professionals, including the Women’s Professional Council of New Orleans, where she currently chairs the Bylaws Committee.
This is Kaja’s first appearance on the list. Kaja focuses on commercial litigation and securities fraud, and she recently secured a $29.75 million settlement on behalf of a class of stockholders who were given misinformation about financial projections and sales data in connection with a SPAC merger. The settlement was finalized by the Delaware Court of Chancery in July 2025. Kaja also maintains an active pro bono practice with a particular focus on civil rights. She serves on the Eastern District of Louisiana’s Civil Pro Bono Counsel Panel and has argued a post-conviction relief appeal before the Fifth Circuit. In addition, she serves as Communications Co-Chair on the Association for Women Attorneys – New Orleans Board of Directors.
Lawdragon recognizes the honorees as lawyers who have “made their mark in fewer than 15 years in practice, with entire careers ahead of them to be the change they want to see in the world.” Kaja and Blair are exactly that: young partners who are invested in their careers and their communities and will carry forward the integrity of law.
