Fishman Haygood Represents Stirling in Purchase of Fremaux Town Center

Fishman Haygood recently represented longtime firm client Stirling in the buyout of the interest of CBL & Associates Properties, Inc. (NYSE:CBL) in Fremaux Town Center, a 640,000 sq. ft. commercial shopping, retail, and dining center in Slidell, Louisiana. Our attorneys have counseled the full-service commercial real estate company, as well as its affiliates, in numerous transactions involving the acquisitions and sales of commercial retail, industrial, office, and residential developments across the Gulf South.

This is not the first time that Fishman Haygood has represented Stirling regarding Fremaux Town Center. In 2013, the firm assisted Stirling with the initial acquisition and development of Fremaux Town Center through a joint venture with CBL. The transaction involved the buyout of the original developer group through a stock purchase, as well as the construction financing, development, and title work.

Since then, Fremaux Town Center has only continued to grow. The roughly 350-acre regional mixed-use development, which is anchored by stores like Dillard’s and Best Buy, includes not only retail and restaurant options but also luxury residential apartment units and a Springhill Suites by Marriott. Phases for additional development opportunities, including residential, retail, and office spaces, are planned.

The $30.77 million sale of Fremaux Town Center closed October 24, 2025, and appears in the New Orleans CityBusiness November 2025 M&A Report. Click to read CBL’s announcement.
