NAWL provides leadership, a united voice, and essential resources to achieve its mission. Since 1899, the organization has empowered women in the legal profession, cultivating a diverse membership dedicated to equality, mutual support, and collective success.

Schilling is committed to female representation in the legal field and in her community. She is a past president and member of the Association of Women Attorneys and has also served as the Independent Women’s Organization Bylaws Chairperson. Schilling also recently completed the Loyola University New Orleans Women’s Leadership Academy program, which seeks to increase female representation in leadership roles through education and empowerment.

She also leads by example, finding ways to diversify her environmental practice while helping others. After completing training at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, Schilling has mediated Hurricane Ida claims, no small task as Louisiana’s insurance coverage lawsuits have recently skyrocketed. Dedicated to disaster relief, Schilling was appointed to the American Bar Association (ABA) Disaster Legal Services Team, a pro-bono initiative which helps people navigate the aftermath of presidentially-declared disasters. In her second ABA appointment of the 2023-24 bar year, she also serves as vice-chair of the Young Lawyers Division Environment, Energy & Resources committee.
