Blair Schilling Named Bylaws Chair of the Women’s Professional Council of New Orleans

Fishman Haygood Partner Blair Schilling has been named Chair of the Bylaws Committee for the Women’s Professional Council of New Orleans (WPC). The appointment reflects Blair’s continued commitment to advancing women professionals in the Greater New Orleans community and builds on her long record of leadership in organizations dedicated to that mission.

Founded in 1984, the Women’s Professional Council of New Orleans is a nonprofit organization that promotes and supports the interests of women professionals across the region. The WPC brings together members from a wide range of industries — including law, finance, real estate, education, and nonprofits — through monthly programs designed to foster the exchange of ideas and mutual support among its members.

Blair’s role with the WPC is one of several leadership positions she has held in women-focused organizations. She is a past president of the Association for Women Attorneys – New Orleans Chapter and previously served as Chair of the Bylaws Committee for the Independent Women’s Organization of Greater New Orleans. She also participated in the Loyola University New Orleans Women’s Leadership Academy, a program that develops women leaders through education and mentorship.

At Fishman Haygood, Blair’s practice focuses on environmental litigation, including coastal land loss and restoration, land contamination, and regulatory matters. She has represented state agencies, national conservation organizations, and private landowners in complex, technically demanding cases. She is recognized by Chambers USA (Band 2, Environment: Litigation), The Best Lawyers in America®, Super Lawyers, and Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Environmental Lawyers.

Community engagement and leadership are core to Fishman Haygood’s identity. Blair’s service across multiple women-focused organizations reflects the firm’s broader commitment to investing in the communities where its attorneys live and work, and to developing people who contribute meaningfully beyond their legal practice.
