Sharonda Williams Joins Louisiana Policy Institute for Children Board of Directors

Fishman Haygood special counsel Sharonda Williams was recently appointed to the board of directors for the Louisiana Policy Institute for Children (LPIC), a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization seeking to advance policies that ensure that children of Louisiana are set up for success in school and life. The LPIC is an independent source for data, research, and information for policymakers and stakeholders on issues related to early education and care of children below the age of five in Louisiana, as well as their families. Thanks to the organization’s work, the state passed legislation to create the Louisiana Early Childhood Education Fund, a historic amount of state funding was allocated to the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP), and over 115 organizations across Louisiana are committed to advocating for high-quality early care and education. Throughout her career, Williams has worked to address legal issues affecting women, children, families, and the African American community broadly. Williams is a past board president of Bridge House and was a Grace House Women of Substance honoree in 2009. Click here to read more.
