Longtime Firm Client Sanderson Farms Acquired by Cargill, Continental Grain for $4.5B

Sanderson Farms, Inc. (NASDAQ: SAFM) completed today its acquisition by a joint venture between Cargill and Continental Grain Company. Sanderson Farms was acquired for $203 per share in cash, which represents a total equity value for Sanderson of $4.53B. The planned acquisition was first announced on Aug. 9, 2021.

The joint venture combines Sanderson Farms with Continental Grain subsidiary, Wayne Farms, to form a new privately held poultry company named Wayne-Sanderson Farms. Click here to read Cargill’s press release.
