Lance McCardle Presents on Securities Arbitration at NASAA Corporation Finance Training

Fishman Haygood Partner Lance McCardle spoke on securities arbitration as part of the North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) 2026 Corporation Finance Training on September 15, 2026, in New Orleans. The specialized training event provides regulatory updates, filing insights, and compliance education tailored for securities industry professionals and state regulators.

The presentation, “Securities Arbitration – A PIABA Perspective,” identified and described the Public Investor Advocate Bar Association, including what securities plaintiffs’ lawyers do. During the presentation, Lance introduced the arbitration environment and process, provided examples of products that are the subject of arbitration claims, discussed selling and marketing practices that lead to arbitration claims, and reviewed the profile of typical claimants. Peter Cassidy of the Massachusetts Securities Division moderated the discussion.

Lance is a PIABA member and editor-in-chief of the PIABA Bar Journal. He is also Treasurer of PIABA’s 2025-2026 Board of Directors.

Lance regularly represents investors (both individuals and institutions) in claims against their brokers, investment advisors, and/or investment banks in court or in arbitration proceedings administered by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). His participation in the program reflects the respect he has earned among his peers in the field.
