Julie Meaders to Serve as Judge at Tulane Moot Court Mardi Gras Invitational

Fishman Haygood Associate Julie Meaders will serve as a judge for the annual Tulane Law Mardi Gras Moot Court Invitational, held at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. The four-day competition runs from February 5–8, 2026, and brings together leading law schools from across the country to argue appellate issues involving contemporary legal challenges in the sports industry.
Julie practices in the firm’s Litigation Section, focusing on environmental litigation, including pipeline right-of-way disputes and pollution and nuisance cases on behalf of affected communities. She also represents investors, bankruptcy trustees, and employees in complex commercial and bankruptcy-related matters, drawing on prior experience in insurance and personal injury defense.
A graduate of Tulane Law School, Julie was a member and then assistant coach of Pace, one of the Tulane Law Moot Court Programs under the Appellate discipline. During her tenure, Pace participated in the National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition (NELMCC). The team received the Best Brief award for Intervenor at the 2021 competition and finished as semifinalists. At the 2020 competition, Julie received a Best Oralist award in a preliminary round and the team finished as a quarterfinalist. In 2019, Julie was a quarterfinalist in the Tulane Law School Intraschool Appellate Moot Court competition.
As a former teacher, Julie’s role as a judge reflects her dedication to giving back to the next generation of Tulane Law students.
