Julie Meaders Selected for FBA – New Orleans Chapter’s Inaugural Dawn Barrios Leadership Program
August 18, 2026
Fishman Haygood Associate Julie Meaders has been selected for the Federal Bar Association – New Orleans Chapter’s Dawn Barrios Leadership Program. The new program, which begins Sept. 1, 2026, and runs through July 31, 2027, seeks to promote and develop leadership talent within the organization. Only seven participants were chosen for the inaugural class. Members were introduced at the chapter’s Annual Meeting and Luncheon on Aug. 17, 2026.
To be eligible to participate, class members must have between 5 and 10 years of practice experience. The goal is to increase each participant’s involvement in the Federal Bar Association by developing their organizational and leadership skills through relationship building with other area attorneys and judges. The program honors the memory of Dawn Barrios, who believed in supporting rising attorneys.
Julie represents investors, bankruptcy trustees, businesses, and employees in a variety of commercial disputes, including bankruptcy-related litigation, matters involving fraudulent conveyances and breaches of fiduciary duties by directors and officers, breach of contract cases, and WARN Act litigation. While in law school at Tulane, Julie interned for the Honorable James L. Dennis of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Julie’s selection to the Dawn Barrios Leadership Program reflects her professional commitment to the legal community and her dedication to ongoing learning and personal development.
Congratulations to Julie on this outstanding opportunity!
