Gershanik to Speak on Assessing and Serving on a Non-Profit Board at Upcoming “Get on Board” Event Hosted by the JLNO

On October 5, 2024, Fishman Haygood partner and member of the firm’s Business Section Maureen Gershanik will participate in an interactive discussion on “Tips for Assessing and Serving on a Non-Profit Board” at the Get on Board seminar hosted by the Junior League of New Orleans. Because leaders of nonprofit organizations must find ways to maximize resources, fundraise, plan for sustainability, and forge strategic partnerships, many are seeking energetic, talented, and qualified leaders to help further their mission. The full-day workshop aims to provide knowledge and skills not only to current board members and nonprofit staff but also to those wishing to serve on a nonprofit board; specifically, Gershanik will explore what to consider when deciding whether to join a board, as well as how to be an effective member in the boardroom.
