Fishman Haygood Welcomes 2025 Summer Clerks

Fishman Haygood is pleased to welcome ten talented summer clerks from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University, Southern University Law Center, and Tulane University Law School. These outstanding students will be working alongside attorneys in both business and litigation practice groups at the firm’s New Orleans office.

Each summer associate will spend approximately six weeks with the firm. At various points from June through early August, the following clerks will gain valuable, first-hand legal experience and have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to Fishman Haygood clients, their legal matters, and the firm:

Elizabeth Coman studies at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where she serves as the Managing Substance and Citation Editor of the Loyola Law Review. She won first place in Loyola’s 1L Moot Court Intramural Competition, receiving the J. Skelly Wright Award for Exceptional Oral Ability, and is also a member of the Moot Court staff. Elizabeth earned her bachelor’s degree in American Politics, with a minor in law, justice, and society, from Washington and Lee University.

Olivia Hebert studies law at Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center, and serves as a Senior Editor of the Louisiana Law Review. She earned her bachelor’s degree in coastal environmental science, with a concentration in environmental law, at LSU. While in undergrad, Olivia served as secretary for the 3+3 Law Student Society and was involved in organizations including the Pre-Law Greek Women’s Society and Phi Gamma Chapter of Chi Omega.

Abby Hufft studies at Tulane University Law School. She is an articles editor of the Tulane Law Review, as well as a member of the Business Law Society, Women in Law Society, and Civil Law Society. Before pursuing her J.D., Abby earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Louisiana State University, graduating summa cum laude and as an LSU University Medalist. During her undergraduate studies, she was involved in several organizations, including the Pre-Law Society, for which she served as finance director, Kappa Delta Sorority, and the Women in Business Club.

Zyon Khalifa studies at Southern University Law Center, where he founded the Bridge the Gap Program. Since 2020, he has been serving in the United States Air Force Reserve. Last summer, he worked as a summer associate with both the American Civil Liberties Union and the Alliance for Children’s Rights. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and real estate, with a minor in prelaw, from the University of South Carolina.

Alex Medina studies at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. He is a member of the Moot Court team and serves as the Online Editor for the Loyola Law Review. He also works as a research assistant for Professor Armstrong and was selected to join Loyola’s Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Team. Alex is a student-athlete, having participated in cross country and track as both an undergraduate and now as a J.D. candidate. Last summer, Alex clerked with the Orleans Parish Public Defender’s Office, where he assisted in preparing criminal trials and drafting motions and writs. He earned his bachelor’s degree in criminology and justice from Loyola University New Orleans.

Daniel Paisant studies at Louisiana State University, where he serves as a Senior Associate of the Louisiana Law Review. He is a Paul M. Hebert scholar and has received CALI Awards in Civil Procedure I, Legal Writing I, Sale, Lease & Advanced Obligations, and Business and Personal Finance. Before his legal studies, Daniel earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism with a minor in business administration from LSU. During his undergraduate years, he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order and volunteered with Operation Kare and Habitat for Humanity.

Nicole Alvarez Roca studies at Tulane University Law School. She is Senior Managing Editor of the Tulane Law Review and a member of the Appellate Moot Court in constitutional law. Nicole serves as vice president of the Civil Law Society and secretary of the Federalist Society. She is also active in the Latino Law Students Association and Maritime Law Society. She earned her bachelor’s degree in management and legal studies in business, with a minor in political science, from the Tulane University A.B. Freeman School of Business. Most recently, Nicole was a summer law clerk for the Office of the Louisiana Attorney General, where she conducted research and drafted internal memos for attorneys on matters of Louisiana and constitutional law.

Belen Goicoechea Ruiz studies at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. She is a member of the Loyola Law Review, where her comment titled “State Shield: Exploring Antitrust Evasion through COPA Laws” was published. Belen earned her bachelor’s degree in economics from Tulane University and received a Master of Science in economics and policy analysis, with a concentration in econometrics and quantitative economics, from DePaul University.

RaeLeah Warren studies at Southern University Law Center. She is a CALI award recipient, which she received for two separate classes in a single semester. Rae received her bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University, where she participated in several organizations, including the LSU Pre-Law Society, the Minority Women’s Movement, and the SSS Pre-Law Academic Family. She also participated in LSU’s Dance Marathon, the largest student-run, philanthropic organization supporting the children and families of Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital in Baton Rouge.

Dexter Webster studies at Tulane University Law School, where he is a Managing Editor of the Tulane Law Review. Last summer, he served as a judicial intern for the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, assisting the Honorable Kurt D. Englehardt and law clerks with legal research and writing projects. He received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Yale University, graduating magna cum laude. While at Yale, Dexter was the president of the Yale Chess Club and a member of the club tennis team.
