Fishman Haygood Special Counsel John Bel Edwards Appointed to Bipartisan Policy Center’s Energy Advisory Council

Fishman Haygood special counsel and former Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards was recently appointed to the Bipartisan Policy Center’s (BPC) new Energy Advisory Council. The council, which is composed of 19 former senior government officials, nongovernmental organization leaders, and industry experts, will “help guide BPC’s Energy Program’s priorities and expand its impact at a crucial time for domestic and global energy policy.” Read the BPC’s press release here and see more coverage of John Bel’s appointment on Nola.com.
The Bipartisan Policy Center is a non-profit organization that ensures policymakers work across party lines to create bipartisan solutions. The BPC’s Energy Program is focused on promoting solutions to increasing energy demands, international competition, and geopolitical and security priorities, as well as developing policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and strengthen America’s energy infrastructure.
The Energy Advisory Council is tasked with helping grow and achieve the Energy Program’s goals. In addition to John Bel, other council appointees include former U.S. Representative Garrett Graves of Louisiana and former Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy, Mark Menezes.
