Fishman Haygood partner Jim Swanson recently spoke at the Practicing Law Institute’s annual securities litigation program in New York.
The program, titled “Securities Litigation 2016: From Investigation to Trial,” surveyed the evolving landscape of securities litigation, with emphasis on the issues that arise in the most complex securities matters. Swanson’s presentation, titled “Seeking Resolution: Strategies in Mediation and Settlement,” addressed how to approach mediation and settlement of a securities action.
The Practicing Law Institute selects its speakers, or faculty, from the nation’s leading practitioners, government officials, and judges. Swanson is a founding member and managing partner of Fishman Haygood and has represented state and local governments, corporations, and individuals in a variety of securities matters, including complex matters involving municipal finance, derivatives, CDOs, and Ponzi schemes.
