The Firm Brings Securities Issue of First Impression Before U.S. Fifth Circuit
September 4, 2018
As part of the firm’s robust securities litigation practice, Jason Burge will argue an issue of first impression before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Our clients include the Firefighters Retirement System and the Municipal Employees Retirement System of Louisiana. The issue is whether the district court erred in holding that investor-plaintiffs lacked standing to sue their investment advisor for fraud in the inducement, violations of state securities laws, and breaches of fiduciary duty. Oral Argument is on Tuesday, September 4, 2018.
The firm regularly represents investors in securities who have lost money on misrepresented or fraudulent investments, as well as issuers of securities who have been misadvised to issue manipulated or fraudulent products, such as auction rate securities.
