Benchmark Litigation Names Kaja Elmer to its “40 & Under List – South” for Second Consecutive Year

Fishman Haygood Partner Kaja Elmer has been selected to the 40 & Under List – South by Benchmark Litigation for the second consecutive year. Known as “the definitive guide to the world’s leading litigation firms and lawyers,” Benchmark Litigation determines its rankings based on extensive research, including analysis of law firm case highlights, client feedback, and peer reviews. The 2026 40 & Under List highlights the top emerging talent in litigation.

Kaja represents businesses in commercial disputes, plaintiffs in class action litigation, investors and borrowers in securities fraud actions, and trustees and receivers in bankruptcy-related litigation in state and federal court. Kaja also handles matters involving statutory violations, breach of contract, misrepresentation, and breach of fiduciary duty.

Kaja often represents litigants in federal and state court on a pro bono basis and is a member of the Eastern District of Louisiana’s Civil Pro Bono Counsel Panel. She maintains a strong interest in civil rights and participated in the Civil Rights & Constitutional Litigation Clinic at Seton Hall University School of Law, her alma mater. In connection with her pro bono civil rights representation, she has argued a post-conviction relief appeal before the United States Fifth Circuit.

Kaja also understands the importance of female representation in the legal field and serves as Communications Co-Chair on the Association for Women Attorneys – New Orleans Board of Directors.
