Paschal Joins 4th Annual Removal and Remand Bootcamp Panel

Hogan Paschal, an attorney in Fishman Haygood’s Litigation Section, took part in the New Orleans Bar Association’s (NOBA) 4th Annual Removal and Remand Bootcamp on July 28, 2022. In addition to a refresher on the technical bases for removal and remand, the panel covered contractual waiver of removal rights, federal question removal, federal officer removal, CAFA implications, joinder issues, and recent Supreme Court and Fifth Circuit rulings on appealability of remand orders. The CLE event was offered by NOBA’s Complex Litigation, Solo & Small Firm, and Business Litigation Committees.

The panel, a mix of plaintiff and defense litigators, also included Chloé M. Chetta (Barrasso Usdin Kupperman Freeman & Sarver, LLC); Thomas M. Flanagan (Flanagan Partners, LLP); William L. Mizell (Stone Pigman Walther Wittmann, LLC); and Cayce C. Peterson (JJC Law, LLC).
