Miller to Serve as Panelist at New Orleans Bar Association’s 6th Annual Removal and Remand Bootcamp

Fishman Haygood partner Kerry Miller will serve as a panelist at the New Orleans Bar Association’s (NOBA) 6th Annual Removal and Remand Bootcamp on October 17, 2024. In addition to a refresher on the technical bases for removal and remand, the panel will cover more complex issues including pre-service (snap) removal, federal question removal, federal officer removal, CAFA, improper joinder, amount-in-controversy issues, timeliness considerations, and other procedural hurdles. The CLE event is offered by NOBA’s Complex Litigation Committee, and—in addition to Miller—includes panelists Thomas M. Flanagan (Flanagan Partners), Cayce C. Peterson (JJC Law), and Chloé M. Chetta and (Barrasso Usdin Kupperman Freeman & Sarver). Learn more about the CLE event here.

Miller’s trial practice is as diverse as it is busy, and he has tried cases for both plaintiffs and defendants involving environmental contamination, products liability, breach of contract, breach of lease, redhibition, unfair trade practices, limitation of liability, Jones Act, civil and criminal RICO, and civil and criminal provisions of the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and the Oil Pollution Act. While he enjoys a broad civil and criminal defense practice, he has gained unique complex litigation experience as the appointed lead counsel in the Deepwater Horizon/BP Oil Spill Litigation, the Chinese Drywall MDL, and Hurricane Katrina related environmental litigation.
