Fishman Haygood Teaching Media Law Class at Tulane University

Fishman Haygood attorneys Lori Mince and Alysson Mills have stepped behind the podium for another year as adjunct professors at Tulane University.

Mince and Mills are teaching “Media and the Law,” a class that Fishman Haygood attorneys have taught for many years.

The goal of the course is to provide students with an overview of the various legal issues facing media professionals, including publishers and reporters. The class covers topics such as prior restraint, defamation, the Freedom of Information Act and public records laws, reporter’s privilege and shield laws, and the regulation of advertising and commercial speech.

Mince and Mills regularly represent media companies and reporters from The Times Picayune, The Advocate, Cable News Network and The New York Times in various media law disputes in state and federal court.
