Virginia Hamrick is an attorney in our firm’s Litigation Section.

Virginia’s practice primarily focuses on commercial litigation. Before joining the firm, Virginia worked as a legal fellow at the Tulane University Law School First Amendment Clinic. In this role, she represented clients of the clinic on free speech matters, access to public records, and unlawful arrests, appearing in federal, state, and city court. Additionally, Virginia counseled reporters on defamation and privacy matters. She also worked as a staff attorney at the Florida nonprofit First Amendment Foundation, where she analyzed legislation affecting the state’s open meetings and public records laws, drafted amicus briefs on the public’s access to government meetings, and trained journalists on how to utilize the public records law.

Virginia received her law degree, cum laude, from the University of Florida Leven College of Law in 2020 and served as the Notes Editor of the Florida Journal of Law and Public Policy. She received a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications from the University of Florida.

Virginia is a member of the Rayne Memorial United Methodist Board of Trustees.
