Ms. Gershanik is a partner at the firm. She is a member of our Corporate Section and practices primarily in the areas of corporate law, securities law and mergers and acquisitions.
Since joining us Maureen has worked with clients on public and private offerings of debt and equity securities, acquisition transactions and corporate restructuring transactions. She regularly advises clients on matters of securities law compliance, periodic reporting requirements, corporate governance and executive compensation. She has also assisted our bank clients in the formation of registered bank holding companies with the issuance of trust preferred securities.
Maureen graduated cum laude from Georgetown University in 1992. She later earned her J.D. from Louisiana State University in 2000 as class valedictorian where she served as editor in chief of the Louisiana Law Review and was a member of the Order of the Coif. Following graduation she was law clerk to the Honorable John M. Duhé, Jr., senior judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, from 2000 to 2001. Maureen has been a contributor to the Louisiana Bar Journal's Recent Developments section for corporate and business law matters.
